Elsie was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Mary Ann (Runyon) Harris. She first married Robert Karge (1885-1942). They had 4 children: Robert, Frank, Mary and Elizabeth "Betty" (Karge) Daley. She second married, her deceased sister's (Mabel) husband, John Powell originally of Camden, then of Cape May Courthouse. They lived at 605 Rt 9 in Cape May Co., NJ. The farm was bought in an expansion of the Cape May Courthouse Zoo. Their house is now used as offices.
