Note the 1910 census you have listed in this memorial, which states that Mary's mother was named Nina. Then see the 1880 Franklin Co VA census; Peninah [sic] Bennett, a widow, had a daughter named Mary F. Bennett. Franklin was not there because he had died in 1870 from complications of a Civil War amputation. There was a different Franklin Bennett in the same county who had a wife named America; I had forgotten about that when I contacted you earlier. Someone may have gotten Arina by trying to decipher the spelling of Penina to make it match America, but they were different persons. Penina was born Penina Pedigo; she was Robert Pedigo's aunt, the sister of his father, Joseph D. Pedigo, who had died in the Civil War. You can find Joseph and Penina as siblings in the 1850 Henry Co VA census, in the home of Lewis Pedigo.
