She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 27, 1955 to Dorothy Annette McClain Syx and Paul Herman Syx. She married Ladd Garfield Goodson, III on February 12, 1977, and they enjoyed 32 years of marriage. She has resided in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida with her husband since January 2005, and formerly resided in Hoover, Alabama where she raised her children Crystal Goodson Wilkerson and Ladd Garfield Goodson, IV ("Bo"). She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Annette McClain Syx of Rock Creek, Alabama; her father, Paul Herman (Georgia) Syx of Adger, Alabama; her husband, Ladd Garfield Goodson, III of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; her daughter, Crystal Goodson (Lance) Wilkerson of Hoover, Alabama; son, Ladd Garfield (Rachel) Goodson, IV ("Bo") of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; sister, Judy Annette (Jim) Wells of Rock Creek, Alabama; brothers: Paul Frederick (Cynthia) Syx of Rock Creek, Alabama; Donald Stephen (Connie) Syx of Oak Grove, Alabama; Lorn Meredith (Sheila) Syx of Guntersville, Alabama; grandson, Lance Jeffrey Wilkerson, Jr. of Hoover, Alabama; father-in-law, Ladd Garfield (Martha Jean) Goodson, Jr. of Maylene, Alabama; brother-in-law, Lance Leroy (Melanie) Goodson of Hoover, Alabama; sister-in-law, Leslie Goodson (Dewey) Cole of Leeds, Alabama; and nephews and nieces: Bryan (Holly) Syx; Melanie Danielle Syx; Ashley Syx (Chris) Prantl; Amy Syx (Steve) Nelson; Meredith Leighann Syx; Rachel Danielle Syx; Lance Leroy Goodson, Jr.; and Natalie E.
