Grace Berniece (Evans) Bradley, 89, a resident of Mountain Home for 71 years and a wonderful wife and mother, passed away on February 28, 2010, following a long illness. Berniece was born February 17, 1921, in Shirley, Arkansas, to the late Herbert Evans and Ima (Hackett) Evans. Mrs. Bradley is survived by one son, Col. (Ret.) Terry Bradley of Fairfax, Virginia; five grandchildren, Lt. Col. Scott Bradley of Albuquerque, NM and David, Daniel, Christopher, and Patrick Bradley of northern Virginia; and 1 great grandchild (Alison Bradley). She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a granddaughter, and her husband of 58 years, Clyde E. Bradley.
Mrs. Bradley worked in the Evans and Baxter Theatres for many years and in banking at First National Bank and Peoples Bank for some 20 years. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and Board of Directors, sang in the choir, and belonged to the United Methodist Women and various circles. She had many talents and interests, including all sports, music, and writing poetry. Mrs. Bradley served as President of the Baxter County Poets Club, was a member of the Poets Roundtable of Arkansas and the Twin Lakes Golf Club Ladies League, and an avid Razorback fan. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for her friends and family.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at Roller Funeral Home, Mountain Home, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6. Donations in remembrance may be made to Care Manor Nursing Home, 804 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653, to Hospice of the Ozarks, Inc., 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653, or to a charity of choice.
