FINAL RITES for Mrs. CURRIE, 84, Held Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances E. (Montgomery) Currie, 84, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, Hemphill, with the Rev. Clarence Howell of Boling officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. T. Love, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church. Burial was in Hemphill Cemetery with Starr Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were William A. Parker, John R. Parker, Charles B. Huff, Daniel V. Currie, Van A. Currie, Robert L. Currie Jr., William M. Currie, and Charles Todd Stinson.

Mrs. Currie died at the Jasper Nursing Center Tuesday, May 25, after a long illness.

Survivors include two sons, Oscar S. Currie of Buna and Robert L. Currie of Fort Worth; three daughters, Mrs. J. D. Huff of Hemphill, Mrs. Ardath Waldrop of Jasper, and Mrs. Cecil O. Stinson of Vidor.

She married Van Buren "Dutch" Currie July 29, 1900 in Merryville, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. Three sons preceded her in death, Arthur Currie, William Francis "Buster" Currie and Van Buren "Pete" Currie, Jr.
