Maureen Hansen Adams
Maureen Hansen Adams (Grammy) was born on October 7, 1926 in Price, Utah and died on October 16, 2010 in Reno, Nevada.
She was born to Reuben and Beulah Hansen. Her early years were spent surrounded by a large, loving family.
With the death of her father and the advent of WWII, she and her mother moved to southern California. Following her step-father Fred Thompson, she and her mother traveled a great deal, but when they discovered Reno, she knew she was at home. She became a proud Reno High graduate. It was here that she married and raised her two children, Jon and Jill. And it was here that she met and married the love of her life, Bill Adams.
Maureen had many interests in her life including reading, collecting buttons, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the New York Yankees. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and fulfilled faithfully her many callings. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. To her they were everything good in her life.
She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved Bill. She is survived by her son Jon Krause (Pat) and her daughter Jill Jackson (Gary). Her grandchildren are Jon Patrick Krause (Michelle), Lisa Heiserman (Cary), Marylee Vest (James), Damon Krause (Christy), Tracy Bossert (Shane), and David Jackson. Her great-grandchildren are Natalie, Meg, Adrian, Vida, Logan, Elizabeth, Samantha, Sydney, Tyler, Tory, Abby, Jacy, Morgan and LeeAnna.
A viewing will be held on the evening of Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 8:00 at Walton's Funeral Home, 875 W. Second in Reno. Services will be held on October 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2505 King's Row, Reno.
