Edwin "Ed" Wilfred Strange, 83, a local business owner, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in Decatur. Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday in Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Brother Roy Deavers will officiate. Interment: Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Ed was a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II and the Korean War. He served as mayor of Alvord for more than nine years and as a City Council member for three years. Ed was founder and owner of Edsco Business Forms for over 30 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Alvord. Survivors: His wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Libby" Strange of Alvord; daughter, Sandra Strange of Houston; sons, Steve Strange of Alvord and Scott Strange and wife, Theresa, of Fort Worth; brother, Gerald Strange of Hobbs, N.M.; sister, Doris Edwards of Bedford; granddaughters, Alysia Hickman of Atlanta, Ga., and Tiffany Saddler of Fort Worth; two great-granddaughters; two nieces; two nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.
