Mrs. Nancy Rice Green m. William Nolte [Nolta] 24 March 1870, Douglas Co., Oregon. They were married at the home of Mr. James Rice. They were married by Rev. F. T. Royall, a Methodist-Episcopal minister.

Note: At the time of this marriage, the only James Rice showing in census records in the area of the marriage is a James E. Rice & Nancy Rice residing in the Calapooia Prec., Douglas Co., OR (Oakland). He was b. 1812 in Canada; Nancy, is wife, was b. 1817, Ohio. Believe these are Nancy Rice Green Nolta's parents.

James E. & Nancy Rice reside in the same area in 1880, but no record is found of them since then. James was a farmer.

"Floyd Nolta, who founded the Willows’ Flying Service in 1927 [Willows, Glenn Co., CA], began the use of agricultural aviation practices for seeding and spraying in Glenn County. In 1928 he was the first aviator to sow rice fields from the air. Northern California’s first seeding aircraft, or crop duster as is more commonly known, was a Hisso Travelair purchased by Floyd Nolta. This aircraft, which had no breaks, was converted to a rice-seeder in two weeks."

Floyd, with his brothers Vance & Dale, created aviation history with agricultural aviation, aerial firefighting, and Hollywood stunt flying.
