John "Jack" Kern Golden passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at the age of 82. He was the faithful husband to Ramona Kael Golden, to whom he was married 58 yrs. He was born in New Orleans to the late Patrick Earl Golden and Helen Kern Golden. He was preceded in death by brother Eddie Golden. He was the father of Joanne Hymel, Michael Golden (Bridget), Ken Golden, Barbara Golden, Anita Hagan (Gordon); 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jack graduated from Jesuit High School in 1946 and later played minor league baseball for the Houma Indians and the Brownsville Charro's before serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful LSU fan and avid golfer. He loved his Catholic faith. He was a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 2 p.m. tomorrow at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd, Covington. Internment will follow at the Abbey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Seminarian Fund are appreciated. Arrangements by Bagnell & Son Funeral Home of Covington.
