"Jacob P. Boston, 75, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Firth. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Boston was born in Washingtonville June 1, 1852, and was a life-long resident of this place. He was united in marriage to Anna W. Connor over 50 years. He was a charter member of the IOOF lodge, belonging to this order 52 years. He was proud of an emblem presented him two years ago in honor of his 50 years membership. Surviving are his wife and two children, R. Woodward Boston and Mrs. George Firth, both of this place, nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Firth home Tuesday afternoon and largely attended. IOOF members attended in a body. Rev. E. N. Ball officiated and interment in Oakland (Washingtonville) Cemetery, Washingtonville."
