Lawrence DeVore Bryant, 77, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born August 8, 1933, in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Lawrence Durant and Mary Courtney Bryant.

He was a graduate of Cecil's Business College; a longtime manager of Western Auto in Converse and Cowpens, SC; and a member of the Converse Masonic Lodge, the Hejaz Shrine Temple, and the Spartanburg and Greenville Shrine Clubs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, June Mabry Bryant; a daughter, Vicka B. Weaver and husband Harold of Hickory, NC; a granddaughter, Courtney G. Helms and husband Trinity of Indian Trail, NC; a grandson, Michael DeVore Bryant, II of Spartanburg; a great-granddaughter, Kinley Helms; a sister, Camille B. Hollifield and husband Bill of Santa Barbara, CA; an uncle, Charles L. Courtney of Pasadena, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of good friends.

He was predeceased by a son, Michael "Mike" DeVore Bryant, and a sister, Mary Louise Bryant Scruggs.

Entombment will be in the Greenlawn Heritage Chapel Mausoleum.
