Services were Wednesday for George William Atchison, 83, of 1035 Pearl St., who died at home last Sunday. Burial was in Howard Hampden Memorial Estates. Born August 16, 1886, in Cumberland, Iowa. Atchison farmed for many years near Chadron, Nebraska. He married Mary Amelia Noltensmeier in 1908. She died in 1948. Atchison married Myrtle Davis in Denver on August 27, 1955. After coming to Denver, he worked as a hotel clerk. He was a member of the Christian Church and Chadron Lodge No. 140, I.O.O.F. Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two daughters; Mrs. Vivian Hangeman, Crawford, Nebraska, and Mrs. Elma Anderson, Bellflower, California; two Sons, George R. Atchison, Harrison, Nebraska; and James S. Atchison, Denver; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Florence McClaine, Mountain Home, Idaho; Mrs. Alice Beatty, Mexico, Mo.; Mrs. Louise Ewens, Centralia, Mo.; Mrs. Ann Ross, Denver; a stepson, Everett Fountain, LaMesa, California; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-grandchild. – Denver Post, November 30, 1969
