James was 1 of 12 children born to Strother Mack & Mary ( Eastley) McGinnis.: John Henry, Elizabeth Ann ( Betty),
William Fisher 1843-1911,Minerva Jane 1887-1909, Joel White 1847-1929, Joseph, Patience, James Henry 1852- ,Strother M., Thomas Elliot 1856-1920, Cornelius 1859-1928, Omer, George Richard 1891-1958.
Then Strother remarried Martha Ann Samples 1851-1936 & had Jessie, Wade, Hampton, & Robert Lee 1879.
