Grandson of Christopher Hoover and Elizabeth Brookshire Hoover

In 1907, the family moved to the panhandle of Oklahoma, where J.C. filed claim on a homestead near the town of Forgan, in Beaver County.

The 1940 Census lists J.C. as living with daughter and son-in-law Lillie Mae Peters and Columbus Page Peters in Galt, Grundy County, Missouri.

At the time of his death, he was living in Idaho, where several of his children had moved.

Buried near their daughter, Carrie Lee Callihan Sharp.
