Raymonw William LeMay served in World War II in the U.S. Navy as a S2, serving in the Atlantic and Pacific aboard numerous ships, he was a guard for commissioning of "U.S.S. Lake Champlain CV-39" and was trained on the anti aircraft guns in protecting shipping in the Atlantic and Pacific. He served aboard a great many Liberty Ships as well as numerous bases both on the East Coast and West Coast and Pacific.
Upon Discharge, he went to serve with the 105th NYSNG Company B.
Raymond W. LeMay was a Cohoes Fire Department Member for 6 years, before joining the Cohoes Police Department from which he retired in December of 1977. After serving with the Cohoes Police as Detective-Sergeant in the City Of Cohoes, he retired to Clifton Park, Saratoga County. He was a past PBA President for the Police Dept. of Cohoes.
He was also Commissioner Of Deeds of Cohoes, a member of the E.T. Ruane Post of The American Legion and Moose Lodge of Cohoes. He passed of a brief illness at Cohoes Memorial Hospital.
His was the son of Louis LeMay and Rose Eva Plouffe and married Theresa I. Murray of Cohoes on February 2nd, 1948 at St.Patrick's in Cohoes. He had 3 Children: 2 daughters and a son.
