My name is Laura (Grissom) Tips and this is my fraternal twin sister, Lisa Ann Grissom. We were the 2 youngest siblings in a family of seven children raised by our single Mother, Hannah Grissom. Lisa was beautiful, sweet, smart, funny and 5 minutes older than me, which made her the boss. Once, when we were very little, I swollowed a whole bottle of pills just because she told me to do it. She protected me on the playground when we were little girls because I was the shy one and she was the feisty one. She loved to draw, paint, write poetry and create with her hands. She loved R&B and turned me on to great music like Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers and funk, just to name a few. She loved Jimi Hendrix, The Marx Brothers (especially Groucho), she loved Christmas and she loved me like no one else ever did or ever will. In 1982, just five days after our 19th birthday, my sister committed suicide and I was the one who found her. Lisa was very artistic, selfless, loving, emotional and kind. She suffered from biopolar mental handicap (which back then, they called it schizophrenia)and I am also bipolar too. I suffer from MS and clinical depression and herniated disks sustained from 2 major MVA's in 1997 as well. Marylin Monroe was Lisa's idol; so sad that their lives ended up paralling each other. Lisa was never blessed enough to feel true love from a man. She was beautiful, trusting and wanted so much to be loved and men took advantage of that; men used her and abused her, but her heart was so sweet and full of love that she never gave up trying to find it. I like to think that Lisa and Marilyn they are BFFs Up There now. That thought comforts me, for they had a lot in common. This website is a God send to me for it helps me to honor Lisa's life and the lives of my Mother Hannah Grissom and my brother James Michael Grissom and now my sweet dogs Budd E. Tips and Missy MacDougles Tips.It helps me to tell them all how much they mean to me. I can share things with them here, too. Thank you to everyone who has left kind words on my family's webpages. We here at Find-A-Grave are like family and very comforting. And Lisa, I will continue to burn the midnight lamp, alone.

Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on the snow. Sunlight on ripen grain. Gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circle flight and the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there. I did not die.
