** God Bless your Son - Jacky Reed - he stayed at your side a lifetime sweet Mama Mozelle. He served in Vietnam, came home to you - he was an Irving, TX police officer and retured after 28 years service - came home each day to you. He protected and loved you and we all loved him the more! Such dedication of a Son. There are no words for such devotion on this earth. He buried you and now grieves your passing Dear Mrs. Reed. He is having his Daddy's body moved to rest next you. The State of Texas Monument he has ordered to Memorialize your lives is going to be so Beautiful. What an ANGEL SON on this world you had.

A Biography as share by Son Jacky:

Mozelle lived most of her life in Lancaster, TX. 41 years on Taylor Street. Her husband was shot 5/30/1970 in a robbery attempt at a store in Dallas, TX. Her son Jacky never left his Mother's side. Faithful with her through the years. Her grandparents Pinkleton Littleberry Burk and Mary Katherine (Roberts) Burk borught Mozelle to Texas on a train from Georgia. Little Mozelle wanted to go with her Grandparents to Texas. The grandparents are buried in Anna, TX at the Warden Cemetery. Her Mother - Lillian Burk is buried in Georgia. Mozelle met John Reed - they were both staying in a boarding house, and she came home from work, John was heading inside and she just asked for a cigarette. They became friends and fell in love. They were married 9/23/48. Had two boys Johnny Wayne Reed - 1954, Jacky Lynn Reed 1955. Spent the early worked very little while the boys were small - she went to work after her husband's untimely death in Dallas, TX. The family had moved to Lancaster in June, 1962 - reamined there until 9/19/2003 back to Van Alstyne, Mozelle's "home-town" where she arrived in Texas in 1925 with her Grandparent's. Mozelle had 2 brothers, Bobby and Albert Burk. The brothers were born after Mozelle had came to Texas.
Mozelle had many adventures - very independent, and tried do to things until she just could not do for herself any longer. She just could not believe that things had changed so much. Mozelle had a pet english bulldog named Princess that she and Jacky adored! They had her 5 years or more and she could've won a blue ribbon - just adorable!! When they decided to move to Van Alstyne, the old neighborhood had changed for the worse. Unbelievable! Anytime Mozelle was ill, hospitalized or just need support, of course jacky was there, He devoted his life to his Mother - Jacky is a Gold Star Son! ** just a note -- my Mother Patsy Dodd and myself had gone to see Mrs, Reed in the Rehab at Van Alstyne - and when we walked in - the first thing she said to me was "Paula, you cut off your beautiful hair!" -- WOW!! I waited until my Granny was in Heaven but Mrs. Reed got me!! God rest her soul she truly was an angel on this earth and now with our Father in Heaven.
