Death of Arthur Andrews A Good Man Called to his Reward
It is with sadness we chronicle the death of Arthur Andrews, which occurred at his home in this city, last Thursday, September 29, at 3:30 PM Mr. Andrews had been in declining health since last June when he surveyed and laid out Parnell City...was born in Chester county, Pennsylvania, in 1835, and came to Missouri in 1867, settling on his farm in White Cloud township...He moved to Maryville...in 1869...He lived in this city for eight years when he returned to his farm, ...but again moved to this city in the fall of 1884...He married Miss Mary E. Jackson in 1857. She died in 1875, he was married to Miss Mary Whirch, they had one child, Arthur C, born November 21, 1877...five generations have had the name of Arthur. His funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian chuch...Saturday at 2PM, after which his mortal remains were laid to rest in Miriam cemetery ....A good man and useful citizen has gone to his reward.
