Born January 2, 1932 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Elmer S. and Irene Taylor Wilson. On Sept. 4, 1954, in the Anoka Methodist parsonage, she was married to Donald Eugene Sailors who preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1979. A 1949 graduate of Washington Township High School, Marjorie's first job was at Ray's Creamery. In 1950, she was hired as the secretary for the Cass County Cooperative Extension office, where she worked until 1960, leaving to become a stay-at-home mom. Once her children were both in school, she worked as a migrant aide at Washington Township Elementary School. A lifelong learner, she attended Ivy Tech Community College, taking computer courses to keep current with her business skills. For many years, she was employed with Kelly Services, working wherever needed in several local businesses.

Marjorie was a member of First United Methodist Church. When her children were young, she taught Sunday School, coordinated Vacation Bible School, served as a Cub Scout den mother and was active in PTA She also served as a volunteer for the Masonic youth organizations, Rainbow and DeMolay. She loved to travel and belonged to the Phyllis Clawson Travel Club. For over 40 years, she was a season ticket holder at the Wagon Wheel Theater in Warsaw.

Marjorie was a born artist. During the 50's and 60's she painted senior cords. The past several years, she took painting classes and enjoyed painting gifts for family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress and excellent cook, passing on her skills to her children and grandchildren. No one could make cut-out cookies or macaroni and cheese like "Mimi."
