Robert (Bob) W Campbell, (96) a life time resident of Waukegan died Monday, March 2, 2009.

Born February 13, 1913, Bob was a fun loving and funny man who was loved and enjoyed by his many friends and family. He was a 1931 Waukegan High School grad, a former square dance caller who enjoyed music, dancing and singing along with his wife and many friends.

Bob worked for the American Can Company for 15 years, Frandsen Brothers, Grayslake for 26 years and for the Belvedere and Lakehurst Malls after his retirement for another 15 years. He was well known by many people who enjoyed his stories and jokes.

Bob is survived by his three sons, Walter R (Dee) Campbell of Tucson, AZ, David (Sharon) Campbell of Waukegan and James (Ivy) Campbell of Orange Beach, AL; six grandchildren, Robert Campbell of Zion, Shari Campbell of Grayslake and Lisa (Robert) Macarra of Kenosha, WI, Alan Campbell (Codie) of Portland, OR, Christi McGowan of Belleville, IL, Jon Campbell, Basking Ridge, NJ; and five great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Tyler and Tanner Campbell of Portland, OR and Colby and Kyle Nagel of Grayslake; nieces and nephews, Fred Ebler, Kenny (Jonny) Kemp and Nancy Celesnik and several other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ione (nee Knickelbein); one son, Bobby; a grandchild; four brothers, Charles, Andrew, Wilber and Herbert; five sisters, Ella Neuhs, Bernice "Bun" Ebler, Marion, Edie Kemp and Elizabeth; two nieces, Judy Fresbo and Marilyn Ebler; and a nephew Albert Ebler.
