Jsmes Stroud age 65, New Boston, died Tuesday November 16, 2010 at Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield, Mo.

James Irvin, son of Chester Carl and Frankie Isabel (Shatto) Stroud was born on November 13, 1945 in Forker, Linn County, Missouri. On May 21, 1965 he married Dorothy Gardner in Brookfield, Mo. He served in the US ARMY from 1963-1969, and was a member of the American Legion Post #57 of Bucklin. He was the Fire Chief of New Boston, did carpentry work until 1987, and was in the grave digging business until 2007. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed raising and taking care of his cows, hunting, and fishing with family and friends.

James is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home, one son Dewayne(Pamela) Stroud, Wilmington, North Carolina; two daughters, Shelly Cleveland and Michelle (Randy) Bohonsky, Marceline. Four grandchildren, Ashley Duncan, Shelly Stroud, Kelsey and Derick Gardner; four brothers, Bill (Pat) Stroud, Laclede, Mo; Paul (Carol) Stroud, Granger, Texas, Ed (Carla) Stroud, Branson, Mo; and Carl (Flo
) Stroud, Colorado Springs, Colorado; four sisters, Mary Alice ( Joe) Mrak, Ft Wayne, Indiana; Mildred O'Hair, Akron, Ohio, Shirley (Jerry) Ramalia, Warsaw, Mo, and Betty (Dale) Standley, Bucklin, Mo; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

James was preceded in death by his parents, three nephews, one niece, and farming partner Tracy Core, on June 24, 2010. Paternal grandparents James B Stroud and Martha A Comstock Stroud, and maternal grandparents Joel Robert Shatto, and Clara White Shatto

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 20, 2010 at Rhoades Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Pastor Jarrod Rapp officiating. Burial will be in the New Boston Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Lefion # 57 of Bucklin, Mo.
