Rites set for Sherry Wigley Crow, supporter of arts, Dallas volunteer The Dallas Morning News - Saturday, May 13, 1995 Services for Sherry Wigley Crow, a supporter of many Dallas arts organizations and an active volunteer, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park will be private. Mrs. Crow, 47, died Thursday of Hodgkin's disease at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. The Dallas native devoted much of her time to the Evergreen Society, a fund raising arm of the American Cancer Society. She was the first recipient of the Evergreen Award in 1994. Her husband, John Danridge Crow of Dallas, said the Evergreen Society was her pet project. "It was in her nature to help with many organizations, and she was always able to get a lot of friends together to help raise money to help the Evergreen Society," he said. Mr. Crow added that his wife was a great benefactor for people in need. "She had a great passion for helping people in any way that she could," he said. "She worked many years at Children's Medical Center, and she championed the rights of children who had no homes and also abused children." Mrs. Crow was a member of the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum, the Huguenot Society, the Women's Board of the Dallas Civic Opera, the Dallas Symphony League and the Dallas Theater Center. She served on the boards of the Women's Council of Northwood Institute and the March of Dimes. Other survivors include a daughter, Susanne Channing Crow of Dallas; a son, Craig Clint Stiff Jr. of Dallas; her father, W. Robert Wigley Jr. of Dallas; two sisters, Lisa Wigley of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Karen Wigley-Morrison of Dallas; and her grandmother, Florence Crespi Howell of Dallas.
