Salt Lake City - Miss Louise Browning, 71, of 785 1st Ave., died Wednesday in a local rest home after a long illness.

Miss Browning was born Feb. 19, 1903, in Sacramento, California, a daughter of Franklin Middleton and Margaret Ann English Browning.

She was a member of the Kappa Phi Honor Society, National Association of Social Workers and the Utah Association of the Deaf. She was also an honorary life member of the Utah Conference on Social Welfare.

She received a master's degree in social work in 1951 at Simmons College, Boston, Mass., after earning a bachelor degree in 1947, at the University of Utah where she took her graduate certificate in 1948 and another master in 1949.

Her survivors include a sister, Mrs. L. H. (June) Andersen of Salt Lake City; an aunt, two nieces and a nephew, all of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in the 21st LDS Ward Chapel, 430 2nd Ave.

Friends may call at the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary in Ogden Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the LDS Chapel in Salt Lake City Tuesday fro 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services.

Friends so wishing may make contributions to the School of Social Work, University of Utah.

Interment will be in the Aultorest Memorial Park.
