Josephine R. Crescenzi Luton, 86, of Liverpool, died on Monday at James Square. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1945 and Syracuse University School of Public Health. She had retired in 1983 after 19 years with the Onondaga County Health Department as a public health nurse and school nurse in the parochial schools. She was a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Church and a member of the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association. She was predeceased by her husband, James who died in 2006; and daughter, Donna Luton who died in 1982. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Joseph) Russo of East Syracuse; two sons, Michael J. (Sally) of Onondaga Hill, James J. (Lorraine) Luton Jr. of Minoa; a brother, Anthony Crescenzi of Syracuse; a sister, Adleen Barry of Syracuse; and four grandchildren, Joseph Russo, Erica Russo, Megan and Camber Luton; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Giana Russo; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Vincent dePaul Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Church, 342 Vine Street, Syracuse, NY 13203.
