Rev. Norman Z. Abbott was a pioneer Baptist pastor who was born in Seneca, South Carolina. After the Spanish American War, he returned to South Carolina.

He married Miss Daisy Parsons at Central, South Carolina in 1900.

The young couple moved to Mallard, TX in 1903 where Mr. Abbott served as stationary engineer operator for the Mallard Cotton Gin until 1913.

In 1911 he was baptized in the Mallard Baptist Church and in 1913 he was license to preach. One year later, Rev. Abbott was ordained. He served as pastor for the Mallard, Long Bean and Dye Mound churches.

In 1920 he went to Throckmorton as pastor of the Fairview and Bush Knob Baptist churches.

Daisy Abbot was preceded in death by a daughter - Mattie Lee Abbott, two sons - Cyril Eugene Abbott, Aaron Janell Abbott
