Wilma Philips, 77, of Lyons, passed away Monday, November 11, 2002, in Ionia. She was born June 5, 1925 in Ionia, the daughter of Mervin and Clarabelle (Ward) Hysell.
She worked for Chrysler Corp. for many years and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Women's Moose Lodge.
Mrs. Philips was preceded in death by her husband, Dail; sister, Winifred; brother, Baylous; stepbrother, Ernest; and great-grandson, Devon.
Surviving her are her son, Douglas (Karleen) Philips of Ionia; daughter, Jacqueline Brandt of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Raymond Zeigler of Ionia, Roy (Margaret) Zeigler of Ionia and Neil (Janet) Zeigler of Ovid; six sisters, Vernabelle (Al) Bernor of Ortonville, Shirley (Tom) Sutliff, Melva (John) Kinsman of Ionia, Muriel Wagner of Grand Rapids, Bonita Mills of Pontiac and Neola Sanders of Ionia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.
