Rev. Dr. Wolfe Dies, Aged 52 – Bishop Powell To Officiate At Last Rites For Smithsburg Rector. - Funeral services for Rev. Dr. Clarence Edward Wolfe, widely known county clergyman, who died suddenly yesterday noon at St. Ann's Episcopal rectory in Smithsburg, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock with services at St. Ann's with Rt. Rev. Noble C. Powell, Bishop Coadjutor of Maryland, officiating. Bural will be in the Smithsburg cemetery.
Rev. Dr. Wolfe succumbed to a cerebral hemorrhage and died within a short time of being stricken. While he had been complaining for some months of severe headaches and was under medical treatment, he had been attending to his pastoral duties as usual and conducted services Sunday.
Dr. Wolfe, who was born in Baltimore on August 7, 1890, had served as rector of St. Ann's; St. Andrew's, Clearspring and St. Clement's, Indian Springs for the past twenty-five years.
He was also rector at St. Stephen's at Thurmont where he was ordained. Some years ago he served as rector at both St. John's at Havre de Grace and at St. Andrew's in Baltimore.
Dr. Wolfe had been serving as the secretary of Convocation at Cumberland. He also served as Worshipful Master of the Salem Lodge 196 A.F. and A.M. He was just recently appointed to the Washington County War Price and Rationing Board.
He was a leading Democrat of the county and took a great interest in civic affairs.

Surviving are: his wife Annabelle Fuerst Wolfe of Baltimore; daughter, Katherine at home; and on son, Lieut. (jg) Clarence E., Jr., U.S.N., stationed at Miami, Florida.
