Dorothy May Barnett Abel was born in Chester, Pa on 8/8/12.
She had 3 sisters and a brother. Her parents were Arthur G Barnett and Ethel Marion Henry Barnett. She Was an active church involved young woman from early on. She had music talent and played piano, organ, violin, clarinet and she taught music lessons most of her life.
When she was in her late 20's she meet a handsome young man who was interested in having her accompany him on the Violin with her piano playing. In Dec 1941 he asked her to marry him and she consented. She was married Aug 8, 1942...her 30th birthday to Clarence Lynn Abel. World War II had begun and Clarence had joined the Navy and went to sea. Their first son, Paul Lynn, was born Oct 6, 1943. Dorothy carried him everywhere she went to keep up with her husband's station on land...the family spent several months in Washington State until Clarence was shipped out to sea in the Pacific. He returned safely in 1945 and a second son David Lynn was born on 27 December 1946.
Dorothy was a good and faithful wife, giving her husband all the nurture and care he needed. They were married 57 years.
She had a sudden Stroke in July 1995 and was bedridden until her death the last day of Oct, 1999.
