LAWRENCE P. BECKER

Lawrence P. Becker, 45, of 1126 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, took his life
Monday morning. Funeral services will at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer
Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Kenneth Fisk will officiate and burial
will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Becker was born Feb. 15, 1924, at Aniwa, Wis., son of Otto and the
late Goldie Ingalls Becker. He was graduated in 1943 from Mattoon High
School, Shawano County, and came to Manitowoc. He married Donna
Heideman Sept. 20, 1947, and had been employed as a bricklayer by Hedrich
Construction Co. During World War II he served with the U.S. Navy as
seaman first class and was a past member of Veterans of Foreign War Post
No. 659. He was a member of Amvets Post No. 99.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Daniel and Peter, and four daughters, Mrs.
Michael Jolin, Jo Ann, Cindy and Lisa, of Manitowoc, his fagther [sic] and
step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Becker, of Manitowoc, two brothers, Verl,
of Manitowoc and Melvin, of Renton, Wash., a sister, Mrs. Richard DeBruin,
of Menomonee Falls and a grandchild. His mother died Oct. 12, 1929.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Members of Amvets
Post No. 99 will meet at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday and military rites
at graveside will be accorded by the VFW post.
