Charles Holmes "Jabo" Smith, 92 of Screven, Ga. died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 in Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a Baptist and lived most of his life in Screven, Ga. He was predeceased by his wife, Melba Moody Smith and a son, Luther Vann Smith and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Schaffer.

Survivors are 2 daughters: Charlene and Monroe Dewitt, Jr. of Glennville, Ga., Jackie and Dennis Hall of Savannah, Ga.; a daughter-in-law: Jaquita Smith of Screven, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, November 22, 2010 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor George Moxley and Harold Delk officiating. Interment will be in the Screven City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kelvin Mock, Wesley Smith, David Thornton, Darrell Deloach, Leslie Tyre, and Chris Morgan.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. Monday, November 22, 2010 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.
