Mr. Andrews was born July 25, 1925 in Wells, Texas and died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Lufkin, Texas. He was salutatorian in his Class of 1942 and attended the University of Houston. He joined the Army Air Corps and served as a navigator and flight officer during WWII. He was a Chevrolet parts manager for over 50 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Diboll, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents: Clyde Eugene and Mattie (Goolsby) Andrews; brothers: Jack Andrews and Braley Andrews; and sisters: Johnnie Bates and Lois Andrews.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bessie (Hooper) Andrews of Diboll, Texas; sons: Donald Reagan Andrews and John Alan Andrews both of Austin, Texas; daughters: Mary Jane Allen of Austin, Texas and Laura Lynn Koenig of Ovieda, Florida; grandsons: Austin Koenig and Travis Koenig; granddaughters: Sara Allen, Laura McRae, and Allison Michelle Andrews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
