My Nana, known as Jane or Janie, was a sweet and loving Lady who was loved by family, friends and neighbors.

Her Mother died (unknown date) in Canada. There were four children born in the marriage, two of them girls,both died in infancy. Her father moved to Massachusettes with her and her brother William Thomas, where he married his second wife, Rebecca (Taylor),and had a son Forrest. Rebecca passed away in 1914 from Cronic Endocardtis at the age of 51. He than remarried for the last time to Anna Sophie Neilson- Gorgenson. He settled in New Hampshire and had four more Children George William, Evelyn,Steven,Laura and Edwin.

She married Giles Sherman Bryer in 1907. She was a stay at home Mom and did nursing in the community, Giles was a Auto Menanic, who passed away in 1947. His disease was diagnosed in 1943 as recurrent cacinama of the rectum. Nana nursed him at home till the very end.

In 1941 she lost her grand daughter Virgina Louise Warren,(Ginny) who was killed by a grinder truck,the driver swerved to miss a byclist , went up on the side walk where she and two of her friends were playing, Ginny died instintly , her two friends substand minor injuries.

Ever Saturday was Nana's day, my, Mom and sister took the bus from Beverly to Saugus to visit. The first stop was Riverside Cemetery, where we visited with my sister, and grand father, than off to Nana's house. My foundest memerioes of her was her house was always clean, sitting in her rocking chair lestening to opera music, which I never learned to enjoy, along with her home made ruberb pie.

She is predeceased by her parents; William George and Mary Adar (Dennis) Bezanson; two brothers Forrest Seaward and William Thomas Bezanson.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her two daughters; Mrs. Elizabeth Harriet (Warren) Cresoe and her husband Francis, off Beverly, Dorothy Jane Bryer of Saugus; two brothers; Charles Markland and his wife Catherine of Saugus, Francis Markland and his wife Edna of Hamilton; seven grand children Vernon Warren of Saugus, Sharon and Barbara Cresoe of Beverly, Francis, Gary, Robert and Jay Markland , all of Hamilton, Ma.


Jane had an Acute Mycardial infraction with Cardiac arrest at home and was D.O.A. at Lynn Hospital on July 20, 1962 at 80 yrs. old. Cause of death was listed as Anteriosclerotic Heart disease.

Her fineral was held from Bisbee Funeral Home, Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus where she resting with Her husband and grandaughter.
