BOWMAN, MR. ERNEST MURLIN - of Maynardville, born October 4, 1903, passed away at St. Mary's MedicalCenter at 12:04 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 1998. Member and deacon of Alder Springs Baptist Church since 1936. Former city manager of Maynardville and school teacher of Union County, Former Union County court clerk and trustee. Director of First State Bank, finance committee, charter member of Union Farmers Cooperative and retired farmer of Union County. Preceded in death by wife, Beulah Mae GravesBowman; son, Auble Bowman; daughter, Alma Bowman; and grandson, Art Bowman. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Ramah and Roy Seymour, Knoxville, Tenn., Leah and Benny West, Maynardville, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle and Jane Bowman, Ray and Cynthia Bowman; Paul Bowman, Maynardville, Tenn., Lynn and Linda Bowman, Knoxville, Tenn.; special grandchildren, Paula Booker and Travis Bowman; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Survivors: brother, Frank Bowman, Maryville; and sisters, Wenonah Millsaps and Anna Lou Alexander, Alcoa, Tenn. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday with funeral service to flllow at 8 p.m. at Ailor's Chapel, Rev. Johnny Jones, Rev. David Mullins and Rev. Dwight Brantley officiating. Singer, Bruce Forlines and the Alder Springs Singers. The family will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the entrance of Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11-a.m. graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alder Springs Baptist Church, 556 Hickory Star Road, Maynardville, Tenn 37807. Ailor Mortuary, Maynardville.
