Buell Adams

Mr. Buell Adams, 92, of Statham, Ga. died Friday November 19, 2010. Born in Dothan Alabama, he was a son of the late Henry Clayton and Eura Johnson Adams. Mr. Adams was a veteran of World War II serving in United States Army in Northern Africa Italy, France and Germany. He was the recipient of 2 silver stars. He retired as the materials logistic coordinator for the United States Marine Corp. in Albany Georgia, where he served for over 25 years years. In 1991 Mr. Adams and his wife, Florence, moved to the Oconee County area to be closer to his family. Mr. Adams was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Euell Adams, and sisters, Mary Francis Hyatt and Mirion Albright. Funeral services will be held Sunday November 21, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home West Chapel with Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Interment will be at Oconee Memorial Park with Military honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Florence W. Adams, Statham, Ga.; his children, Beverly Baker Griffin (Earl) Statham, Ga., and Clay Adams (Trish) Gainesville, Ga.; Sister, Vivian Willard, Prattville, Ala.; and grandchildren, Judson Baker and Kristen Baker. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Briarwood Baptist Church 1900 Robinhood Road Watkinsville, GA 30677 Lord and Stephens Funeral Home West of Athens, GA, (706) 546-1587 is in charge of arrangements.
