Emery B. Kinion, 82, passed away August 8, 2008. He was born October 1, 1925 on a farm near Claudell, a small town in Smith County, Kansas. His family moved to Smith Center when he as about seven years old. He graduated from Smith Center High School in 1943.
Emery was in the Navy during World War II from 1944 until 1946. He was stationed on the aircraft carrier, The Attu. He came home to farm and later went to work as a line equipment operator for Centel. He retired after 25 years.
Emery was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Smith Center, KS.
