Edwin "Slim" Oestreich, 61, of 1301 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday at Maple Crest Sanatorium, where he had been a patient a year.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. N.W. Kock officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Oestreich was born April 25, 1905, at Manitowoc, son of the late August ahd Hattie Rosinsky Oestreich. He was unmarried.

He was employed on the Mississippi River tugs as a chief engineer, retiring from this work in 1952. In 1957, he became custodian at the I.O.O.F. building at Manitowoc until becoming ill a year ago.

Survivors include his step-mother, Mrs. August Oestreich, two brothers, Howard of Manitowoc and Karl, of Appleton and a sister, Mrs. Elmer Gass, of Manitowoc.

Friends may call after 6 o'clock this Monday evening at the State Street entrance to the funeral home.
