Charlotte - Eleanore Pearce Touchberry passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2013 at The Cypress of Charlotte. Eleanore was the daughter of the late Marie Parker Pearce and John Stewart Pearce, born on March 3, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Holland Hall Episcopal School in Tulsa. She also attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Ellie enjoyed volunteer work in hospitals and working with the Red Cross when her children were growing up. She married Lt. William Leonard West, a fighter pilot who was killed in Africa within a year. Later, she joined the Red Cross and was sent to the Phillipines. In Manilla, she met Lt. Colonel C.H. Touchberry. After the bomb was dropped and the war was over, she returned home and married Carey Holland "Touch" Touchberry in the Episcopal Church. They then made their home in Charlotte in 1947, where Touch started in the Real Estate Business. Along with her husband, she was active at St. John's Episcopal Church, where the children were baptized and married. Ellie and Touch were early members of Carmel Country Club.

After retirement, they moved to Hilton Head Island for 12 years. Both enjoyed playing golf at Sea Pines Country Club and Haig Point Club on Dafuskie Island. Ellie enjoyed bridge and painting.
