Mrs. Euphemia Stratton died at her home south of town Thursday evening, at 8 o'clock, July 23, 1914. She was born in Streetsboro, Ohio, September 10, 1847. In 1865 she was maried to Joseph B. Stratton, who passed away in August, 1909. She has been a resident of this place for the past thirty-five years. Ever a loving, cheerful personality, she won the esteem of all with whom she came in contact. An intense sufferer for many weeks, she bore her suffering with patience and resignation. She was a kind neighbor, ready to assist in trouble or sorrow. A tender and loving mother. She is survived by three children, Albert T. Stratton, Miss Ruth Stratton, Mrs. Jessie Horton and two grandchildren; also three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Olin of Galesburg, Mrs. Jennie Peake of Richland, Mrs. Ida Lewis of Salt Lake City, Utah; A. C. Thompson of Hobart, Ind., William Thompson of Madelia, Minn., and James Thompson of Ulman, Mo. The funeral was held at her home, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. W. Barber of Plainwelll. Interment in Mountain Home cemetery. Those who were present at the funeral from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Ilin, Mrs. J . A. Wixson, Ross and Florence Wixson, Mrs. C. L. Schroeder and Mr. and Mrs. George Walker of Galesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Peake, Mrs. Clarence Harvey and Mrs. Sara Stratton of Richland, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Harvey of Schoolcraft, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Stratton of Alllegan and Miss Mable Barber of Plainwell.
