Geraldine was born in Los Angeles, CA, on August 5, 1929, and moved to Templeton in her early teens. She graduated from Templeton High School where she was active in sports. She married Theodore "Ted" Abramson and raised their two children on the family farm in Templeton. Together they were charter members of the Do Pasos Square Dance Club, were active 4-H club leaders, and traveled many miles with the Happy Trails RV Club.
Many people around the county enjoyed one of Jerry's beautifully decorated cakes made to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other special occasions. An active sewer, she joined the Almond Country Quilters and made many beautiful award winning quilts for family and friends to enjoy.
Jerry is survived by her sister, Sharon Lucas, of Las Vegas, NV; her step-sister, Nancy Sexton (Jim) of Hesperia, CA; her son, Martin (Diane) Abramson of Templeton; and daughter, Bonnie Abramson, of Sacramento, plus her two granddaughters, Lisa Abramson and Lori Abramson, and her "adopted" granddaughters, Kelli (Chase) Johnson and Ashley Young, all of Templeton, as well as various nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted, her parents LaRoe Fitzpatrick and Mae Linnert, her step-father, Leslie Linnert, and her brother Eugene "Fitz" Fitzpatrick.
Services are being held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero, CA, followed by a graveside memorial at Templeton District Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Templeton Historical Museum Society - 309 Main Street, Templeton, CA 93465; the SLO Farm Bureau Women's Scholarship Fund - http://www.slofarmbureau.org/Programs/Scholarships.html#FBW; the California Square Dance Council's Youth Scholarship Fund - http://www.squaredance.org/Youth2/Youth/pdfs/Youth_Scholarship_Donation_Form.pdf; or the cancer or diabetes charity of your choice.
