Shelly Florence Abner, 76, of Barbourville passed away Wednesday, March 25 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Edward Valentine and Lillie Merida Valentine. On Feb. 4, 1937, she was united in marriage to Chris Abner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence Abner and wife Florence of WhiteLake, Mich. and Bobby Abner and wife Karen of Cavot, Ark.; three daughters Ernestine Eversole and husband Corbin, of Clarkston, Mich., Wilma Beardsley and Irene Gray, both of Barbourville; three brothers Perry Valentine of White Lake, Mich., Willie Valentine of Pinconning, Mich., and Calleb Valentine of Milford,
Mich.; one sister, Irene McDonald and husband Larry of Barbourville; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Abner were Sunday, March 29 at 1
p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Johnny Shell, William R. Cobb, and Duke Hammons officiating. Burial followed in the Carnes Cemetery at
Baughman.
Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
