Lula B. Monroe-Moffett, 77, aunt of Duncan Freedman of Valley Mills, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, at a Waco Hospital.
Graveside services were Wednesday, Oct. 7, at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. David Shuttlesworth officiating.
Mrs. Monroe-Moffett was born Jan. 1, 1921 in China Spring and attended Waco schools. She married Mahlon W. Monroe on Aug. 27, 1942. He died January 1985. She married Carl E. Moffett on May 16, 1995.
She and Mr. Monroe owned and operated Monroe Body Shop for 12 years. She was secretary and treasurer of China Spring Cemetery Association for 20 years. She was a member of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church.
Other survivors include her husband, Carl Wilson Moffett of Wco; cousins, Leo Freedman of Lorena, Malcolm Freedman of Rosenthal, Bill J. Freedman of Speegleville, and Virginia Laurence of Lacy-Lakeview; step daughters, Maxine McClain of Ennis and Nancy Smith of Watt; stepsons, Carl D. Moffett of Watt and Jeremy M. Moffett of Tehuacana; and seven step-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the China Spring Cemetery Association.
