Rest Home Owner Taken By Death
Mrs. Benjamin Haddox, 50, of Peebles, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the Adams County hospital shortly after her admission.
Mrs. Haddox and her husband owned and operated the A d a m s County Manor Rest Home, West Union, and Mrs. Haddox became ill while she and her husband were returning to the Peebles residence. She was rushed back to the hospital where she died.
They had owned and operated the local rest home for the past six years.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Robert Haddox, of Manchester, Gene Culp, of Portsmouth and Jerry Culp, of New Boston; a sister, Mrs. Reva Salisbury, of Portsmouth and two brothers, William Mercer, of Portsmouth and Howard Mercer, of New Boston.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Joy Church with Rev. Clarence Haddox officiating and burial made in the church cemetery under the direction of the Ellis Funeral Home.

WEST UNION. Ohio — Fu­neral services are to be conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Mt. Joy Christian Church for Mrs. Marjorie Mercer Haddox. 50, of Peebles.
The Scioto County native died Saturday morning at Adams County Hospital, shortly after she was admitted. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Mrs. Haddox and her hus­band, Benjamin Haddox, owned and operated A d a m s County Nursing Home at West Union.
She was a member of Mt. Joy Christian Church.
Surviving besides her hus­band are two sons, Gene Culp of Zanesville and Jerry Culp at home, a stepson Robert Haddox of Manchester, two brothers, Howard Mercer, 3727 Grace St., New Boston, and Wil­liam Mercer of Eden Park, Portsmouth Rt. 6; a sister, Mrs. Reba Salisbury, 1621 Mabert Rd.. and four grandchildren.
Rev. Paul Jones is to officiate at the services, with burial in Mt. Joy Cemetery under direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
