Leslie "Les" Lawrence Hansen, 90, of Rice Lake died Monday, November 22, 2010 at Rice Lake Convalescent Center. He was born December 7, 1919 in Alden, MN to Julius and Lila (Baker) Hansen. He grew up in Alden and later moved to Albert Lea, MN. He was married in Richmond, CA in November of 1943 to Delores Fredrickson. He worked at Kaiser Shipyard in Richmond, CA for 1 year. Les then worked for Hormel in Austin, MN until his retirement in 1981. They moved to Rice Lake in 1982.
He is survived by: his wife, Delores, of Rice Lake; his children: Larry Hansen of Rice Lake; Jack Hansen of Rice Lake; Curt (Mona) Hansen of Austin, MN; Bill (Betty) Hansen of Austin, MN; Kathy Hansen (Jim Grosskreutz) of Rice Lake; 10 grandchildren; Tyanne & Tonya, Trisha, Nain, Lara, Tim, Tony & Trevor, Troy, Jill; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Alice Weltzen of Macgregor, MN; 1 brother, Gerold (Doris) Hansen of Albert Lea, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Julie; and 1 brother, Lyle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM; Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Skinner Funeral Home - Rice Lake, WI with Rev. Paul Green officiating. Burial will be in Stanfold Lutheran Church Cemetery - Rice Lake, WI. Pallbearers are Larry Hansen, Jack Hansen, Curt Hansen, Bill Hansen, Tim Hansen, Tony Hansen. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Friday, November 26, 2010 and for 1 hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
