Platte County Marriage Records (1879 to 1886, p. 589) indicate that Peter J. Beyer and Mary McConville (McCarville) married on January 4, 1881 in Columbus NE. Rev. Father Seraphine, o.s.f., witnessed the marriage along with Gertrude Kramer and John Byer, both of Platte County. Peter is 27 years old and born in WI. He's listed as the son of Jered Beyer and Maggie Petrie. Mary is 26 years old and born in WI. Her parents are listed as unknown. Peter later changed his last name to Byers.

Washington Marriage Records indicate that Peter Bayer, son of Gerhard Bayer and Marguerite Petre, second married Widow Maggie Borowski, daughter of George Nawrocki and Mary Nodolny, on May 5, 1908 in a Catholic ceremony in Spokane WA. According to newspaper accounts that marriage lasted about 6 months.

There was another short marriage to Ella Payne.
