He attended school at the Brazeau school along with his brother George Chalmers Clary. He lived at 1828 Perry County Road #316. Ed had no running water, electric or a septic system. He lived like a pioneer and raised his two sons in that home. His house fell into disrepair and was demolished.
Ed lived in Perryville Missouri working as a butcher and sausage maker, folks would come from miles around to get his sausages. He was married to Hilda Marie Stueve On April 7 1928 in St. Charles MO (her tombstone reads Helda Kluender to reflect her second husbands last name) they had 2 children together.
He spent his last days in the Hilltop Nursing Home on Highway 61 (a few miles from his home) He ordered steak for breakfast and when it was delivered he had passed to the ages. The retirement home was damaged by wind and demolished sometime around 2009 or so.
It was said by Dale Petot that "Butch" would talk all the time and wouldn't doubt that when no one was there to talk to he probably talked to himself. Ed had 5-6 dogs who would hop in bed with him. He loved Chilli and pepsi, he was a hunter and a fisherman. He was known to drink beer and hard liquor on occasion. His Niece Marie Balsman daughter of Fred Clary said "He drank a lot" and was full of Bull. He liked Seventy Six Missouri, a ghost town now. Edwards house was 1-8/10s of a mile down PCR 316 from P road on the left.
The Monument Co. made an error on the date on his stone. We had his stone made in 2004 and somehow an error was made.
