Mother of Sergeant First Class (SFC) Eugene Ashley Jr, (Specialty) Infantry Operations and Intelligence Specialist, Special Forces Detachment A-Team 101, Company C, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 1st Special Forces, U.S. Army. Her son was Killed in Action in Vietnam (seriously Wounded in Action by machine gun fire, killed by artillery rocket mortar). SFC Ashley Jr was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor (CMOH) for his heroic efforts to rescue/save his fellow men (Green Berets and Montagnard troops). Location: Lang Vei Special ForcesCamp 5 miles west of Khe Sanh, South Vietnam, Quang Tri province.
