My Great-Grandmother on my Mother's side. Great-gram lived at her own home until well into her 90's, and then moved in with her grand-daughter & son-in-law (my parents) who took care of her until she passed away at age 98. Earlier in life, she loved to cook and had a cat that only seemed to like her. (Although it really seemed to like attacking anyone else) She was sad later in life as she said all her friends were already dead and there would be no one to attend her funeral. Not to worry, the procession was over 1/2 mile long and they all made the 45 mile trip from Jersey Shore, PA to Zion, PA for interment. I became ill about half way there and began to get sick out of the back window of the car. My Father pulled over of course and since we were in the car behind the hearse, the entire funeral procession pulled over behind us. I felt certain that Great Gram had somehow staged this postumously and was now having a good laugh up in Heaven. How embarrassing! Once when I was taking care of her I brought her lunch and she said My tea, my tea, so I got her some ice tea. Then she said my tea, my tea, so I got her a cup of hot tea. Then she banged her hand on the table and pointed across the room to a small jar containing......her teeth! Oops! She had a bad cold, the flu or something and she passed away one morning while I was at work delivering furniture. I stopped by the house on break and got the news that she had just died. A kind lady that I was fortunate enough to have been related to.
