Rear Admiral US Navy

United States Navy, Rear Admiral. United States Naval Academy, Class of 1917, where he was president of his class. Commissioned March of 1917. His assignment was aboard the USS Florida. He was present at the surrender of the German Navy in Rosyth, Scotland in 1918. Ship assignments included the USS Maryland, USS Huron, USS Vestal, USS Pensacola. He was the first commanding officer of USS Baltimore and served with distinction in the Pacific and Asiatic Theaters during WWII. Instructor at the US Naval Academy. Bronze Star and Navy Commendation with Combat V among others. At his death, he left behind his wife, Louise, two sons, and three grandchildren.
