Mary Ann (Paupst) Hill was the daughter of John Paupst. She was the 1st wife of Rev. James Hill. They were married June 15, 1850. Rev. Hill was a minister in the Methodist New Connection of Canada Church and Genesee Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He died October 28, 1918.

Hill, Mrs. Mary Ann, daughter of John Paups, was converted on the Cornwall Circuit in 1844. On June 15, 1850, she married Rev. J. Hill and moved with him to Sydenham Mission, Kent County. She died, March 1, 1851, in her 26th year, and was buried near Dresden; survived by her husband and a little infant.
