While sitting in his chair at home, at 11:30 today, James Adair, an old and well known resident of LeGrand, was stricken with heart failure and died within a few minutes. He had been in failing health for some time, but today had been feeling as well as usual.
Mr Adair was 86 years old, a native of Ohio, where he was born June 9, 1831. He had lived in LeGrand and it's vicinity for over fifty years, and for many years was engaged in farming. His wife, with whom he was marriage forty eight years ago, formerly was Miss Phoebe McCartor. Mrs Adair is living as are also two children. They are C B Adair, a teacher in the LeGrand consolidated school, and Mrs Thomas Draper of LeGrand.
